Used, This pristine rotisserie restored Boss 302 is a beauty to look at and a missile to drive. It is an absolute show stopper that draws questions and compliments from both young and old. History This Boss 302 was delivered to Rio Vista Garage in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada on November 19th 1969. Its early years were spent terrorizing the drag strips and road courses in Western Canada. It sat disassembled from 1992 to 1997 when it was eventually purchased by a gentleman in Vancouver, BC. He undertook a complete, fully documented restoration that was finished in 2002. Exterior The car is finished in a premium factory code ‘D’ bright competition yellow paint job. It has the optional “shaker” hood which was only available in 1970. The spoiler trunk lid with the sport slats has the BOSS “prop rod” to assist in holding it up. The underside of the rocker panels are better than when it left the factory, as is the chassis. The body is super straight with perfect fitting doors, hood and trunk. The car sits on B.F. Goodrich TIA tires (235s front and 245s rear) and American racing wheels. Interior & Performance The interior (factory code BA) is absolutely perfect with new black Rino/Corinthian Vinyl and carpets. It has a “Hurst’ shifter and after market gauges. The hidden areas throughout have high quality workmanship. The engine compartment is immaculate. The suspension includes gas shocks, heavy front coil and rear leaf springs. A factory service replacement block (DIZE-6015-5) was decked, blue-printed, crank was hardened and balanced, rods balanced and shot peened, camshaft is moderately aggressive. Heads were polished, flow benched with performance matched valves/springs/lifters. A 650cfm Holly carburetor, jetted and flow benched provides the breathing with mandrel formed 2” stainless steel exhaust system. A 5-speed Tremec 3550 transmission is connected to a 4.11 Detroit locker rear-end. The car was dyno’d at 376 HP and 300 ft-lb of torque (see dyno sheet in our photo gallery). Original Options It was originally optioned with the following features: - Rear deck spoiler - 4-speed close ratio manual transmission (not included) - Optional axle ratio - Trac-Lok differential - F60x15 Belted tires w/raised white letters - Shaker hood scoop - Power steering - AM/8-Track Stereo Radio - Heavy-duty battery - Tachometer and trip odometer This incredible Boss 302 comes with a large binder full of documentation and history for the vehicle. This binder includes the original bill of sale, a complete set of receipts and photos detailing the restoration, engine dyno runs, the Marti report and much more. The car is registered with BOSS 302 REGISTRY, an organization dedicated to preserving the history and authenticity of the breed. This one has it all. A track car that you can drive on the street and one of the best balanced Mustangs ever built. Ford of Canada only allotted Summit Ford 2 Boss Mustangs in that year making this car a very collectible piece. In fact, of the 190,727 Mustangs that were made, only 7,013 Boss 302s were made for the world and only about 600 made it to Canada. This car spent the first part of its life on the track after leaving Summit Ford brand new, was later sold to Keith Dill, a Ford dealer in Niagara-on-the-Lake and then 20 years ago purchased back by Summit. A complete frame off restoration was done on this Boss back before Mr. Dills purchase and with constant professional maintenance has remained in like-new condition for over 20 years. This is a very well optioned car with power steering, power brakes, dual racing mirrors, shaker hood, tachometer, rear window louvers, rally wheels and a 4 speed Hurst competition shifter. The Boss 302 came with a true performance engine that was way ahead of its time, built with solid lifters turning up over 7000 rpm making this engine virtually bullet proof.
