The successor to the ZR1 Corvette made its debut in 2001 as the Z06, giving a nod to the high-performance Z06 version of the C2 Corvette of the 1960s. Instead of a heavy, double-overhead cam engine like in the ZR-1, the Z06 used a high-output, tuned version of the standard LS1 Corvette engine (designated the LS6), which initially produced 385 hp (287 kW). Although its total horsepower output was less than that of the recent ZR-1, the Z06 was much lighter, and could out-perform the ZR-1 in nearly every category. Factory stock performance figures for the 405 hp (302 kW) version of the Z06 include an acceleration time from 0–60 mph in 3.9 seconds and 12.4 seconds in the quarter mile. Chevrolet engineered several modifications for the Z06 to best use the increased power. Starting with the most structurally rigid body style, the hardtop or FRC, new components included: uprated FE4 suspension, larger wheels and tires, revised gearing ratios, and functional brake cooling ducts. The Z06 is 38 pounds lighter than a standard C5 hardtop thanks to weight-saving measures such as a titanium exhaust, thinner glass, lighter wheel, non-EMT tires, reduced sound proofing, fixed rear radio aerial, and a lighter battery. Starting with the 2002 model year, the LS6 engine output was increased to 405 hp (302 kW) due to a larger CFM air intake, stiffer valve springs, lighter sodium filled valves and more aggressive camshaft lift and timing. This unique, and believed “1-of-1” 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Supercharged was originally ordered by selling dealer Ed Morse Chevrolet of Palm Beach Gardens, FLA. Purchased new by its “Original” owner, this motorcar received the cost options including: Memory Package ($175.00 option), Body Side Mouldings ($150.00 option), and Electrochromic Mirrors ($120.00 option). Additionally, before delivery this vehicle was assigned the Dealer-Added option “Appearance and Protection Package” including Premium Gloss finish. The MSRP for this vehicle when purchased new was $52,885.00 USD + taxes and fees. (Original Window Sticker included) As a Corvette enthusiast, the previous owner was very educated in the performance upgrades available for this motorcar and would ultimately choose Eisman’s Corvette Centre (Authorized Corvette Service agent) in Jupiter, FLA to enhance and modify this Z06. On Jan 12, 2005 having travelled only 1,573 miles, this Corvette underwent a complete “Supercharged Stage II” upgrade, at a cost of $11,358.00 USD (invoice supplied). This upgrade included the installation of the Pro Charger System and programming of CPU, Installation of Fuel and Boost Gauges to left Windsheild, Shortening of Shifter, Oil Service, and the Installation/Testing of the completed Stage II Supercharger system. The mated system ultimately boosting total horsepower to over 605HP! Upon completion of the upgraded engine and related components, Mr. Pezzella would again decide to further enhance his Corvette and by amending this coupe into a Hardtop Convertible! This 2003 Corvette was shipped by enclosed transport to Caravaggio Corvettes Inc (a renowned Corvette marque specialist) in Concord Ontario Canada where it would receive a complete Convertible conversion including: Black cloth soft top, Pace car deck lid with black leather bars, and a body paint black Hardtop to complete the conversion. Used, This is the GM designated 50th anniversary package in the red with champagne wheels not just a 2003 model. Everything is original down to the tires. Obviously it has never been abused. The car was originally purchased in California and was brought to Canada in 2006. Never in an accident and in excellent condition. See the photos. There is some minor rock chips, a mark on the rear bumper, chip on right rocker area and a chip beside the glass at the back of the driver window. the car is currently plated in Alberta but stored in Langley BC.
